I have them! But really…must you have them?

I won’t dare say that this is a complete list of all of my favorite music recordings of all time and this list will not be in any order but alphabetical. This list even contains a few that I don’t really ever listen to anymore but…they help complete the collection and deserve some recognition, at least by me!

Why the list then? Why not? It’s my blog and I can do whatever the heck I want!

Do You Have These? You Should

Do You Have These? You Should

  1. No Green Day?
    Pearl Jam?
Red Hot Chili Peppers, or Tom Petty or Sublime?
And come on! NO Roger Waters – The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking?
The disappoint is gushing from inside of me, I can no longer hide it!
Who brought you to Worcester to see U2 when you were like 15? who?
Instead of posting and “FNX” archive of bad music, put something of substance on your list!
Seek some consulting from your older brother next time and maybe, just maybe that list would be interesting! The PIXIES??????????????.
Also, I understand it’s your list, but this is the web and America!;-)
    JSM

  2. No freakin’ way for Green Day, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Sucky Peppers, Tom Pitty nor Subsuck – yes, Green Day has a few good songs, Pearl Jam too but the rest…not a chance! I don’t own a single recording by any of them and it better stay that way!

Roger Waters – okay, you got me there and I did actually consider that album but I don’t feel that it’s a ‘must have’ – it’s one of those recordings that does not stand the test of time! You listen to it now and you think…this is old! On that note…I think I will pull out my old ‘Pros and Cons’ cd now!

C’mon Pixies? – yes! have you ever heard Come On Pilgrim? The Pixies were so far ahead of their time that people like you didn’t know what to do when you heard the music – or wait, maybe you haven’t heard their older stuff yet?

  3. So then “Metric” beats out the for mentioned? Come on! So Sublime w/ “Smoke 2 joints” is not a favorite of YOURS? Hypocrite!
Speaking of “so far ahead of your time” that statement is saved for bands like Nirvana, Pink Floyd, The Who and other legendary “MUSICIANS” who dared to walk the line of different and new. Not bland!
However to each his own and I commend you on your diversity in your music selections.
Also Tool; waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated! Same music, different song title!!

Most of it is good listening, doesn’t have to have a message or a theme, just joy to the ears!
By the way Pearl Jam “10″ should be on there!
Hey did Mom tell you she bought a KIA?
    JSM

  4. Yes, Metric does beat out the Red Hot Chili Dogs and Sublime! Sublime = dead singer – Chili Peppers = just plain suck! and you dare to mention the Who – what good did they do? “Who are you, who, who, who, who….” that’s good stuff – real talent there! and if you are really calling the Pixies ‘old stuff’ (I am not talking about their “I am a pop star” type of music – I am talking about such classics as “Cactus”, “Where is my mind?”, “Holiday Song” and on and on) bland then you ought to get your ears checked…oh and Nirvana = dead lead singer (what a fool by the way – sorry Kurt, great music by man what a fool!).

Yes, Tool ….they haven’t done anything new in a few albums but again…Opiate and Undertow are damn good!

She bought a kia? what the hell? I could have made $100 off of her purchase!

No way to Pearl Jam – I never listened to that album (by choice) in my life and I sure am not about to start now!

    :)

  5. Mom must not of heard of this new “SHARE the wealth” system in place. Oh well the wealth won’t trickle done to the poor white, blue collars like you and I anyways!

I bought a new FORD Taurus! All american vehicle!! I know Kia built in US blah blah blah, perception is reality!!!

  6. Crap! If I knew that Kia was built in the US I wouldn’t have bought one! You couldn’t get me to drive a Ford if you gave me one! and I do disagree…. perception is not reality, the only reality we know is what is forced onto us daily by schools, television, the media, books etc…we only know what we are told to know. We only act how we are taught to act and if you don’t follow the rules…well it’s off to a place where people don’t follow the rules! Reality is just a person’s perception of reality…in other words you cannot define reality because it’s based on what we think we know and most of that has been force-fed to us from day 1!

    Go USA!

  7. You may disagree and you’re entitled too.
However it is still reality for those who don’t “know”, just see!
It’s kind of like all those people who believe David Blaine and Chris Angel are real, if you’re a good illusionist you can get people to believe what you show them! Whether it’s true or not.
Some make up their own minds some let there minds be made up for them!
    There fore perception is reality!
    Go us!!

  8. My point was that nobody knows what reality is. Reality is what ever you want to define it as. The color red is a word mapped to some description of what we have come to call a ‘color’ but really what is red? It’s only a word, that word ties to a description in each of our brains…that description can mean different things to individuals therefore who can really say what the color red is? The language we learned and the lessons we have been taught shape our version of reality every minute of our lives. Reality is what is fed to us and again, each person can have a unique perception of reality based on how the information was taught and absorbed.

What are we arguing about now? Are we still talking about music?

  9. Never argued anything, just looking to push some buttons, it’s all in fun!

Back to the music. Having a good diverse ear for different sounds is always a talent you’ve had.
Some are not what I would chose, but I don’t have a blog of my own so I’m just ranting on yours.

Have a good weekend, I’ll be back when I see something else worth debating or commenting on.
What a country, just log on and go!
The site looks good! I’ll visit more often, my wife loves all pictures.
